The Right Contacts for You

To make sure your contacts are as comfortable as possible, we test several variables. Using keratometry, we measure the curvature of your cornea. Testing your tear quantity and quality will also tell us what type of lenses might be most comfortable.

After your fitting, your optometrist will send you home with a trial pair of lenses. If after some regular wear you realize the lenses are not the right fit, we will try another type until we find the right fit for you. You might need to try more than one type of lens, but we will keep trying until you find the ones that offer clear, comfortable vision and fit well with your lifestyle.

Types Contact Lenses

Contacts have changed quite a bit since their FDA approval in 1971. Since then, we have introduced extended-wear, 2-week disposable, and daily disposable lenses. Talk to our optometrists about what options may work best for you.

Aspheric Lenses: Offer less distortion than spherical contact lenses. Their curvature is designed to enhance your depth of focus more effectively than typical contacts.

Toric Lenses: Designed for those with astigmatism. Shaped specifically to reduce the amount of tilted distortion astigmatism can create. These contacts are weighted and necessitate a fitting to ensure they are comfortable and do not rotate.

Multifocal Lenses: Specialized lenses that incorporate a gradient into their prescription. These are beneficial for those with presbyopia or for myopia control.
